What you need:
27 cupcakes
cake board
icing
spatula
Wilton tip 1D
icing bags and coupler
sprinkles or candy
2 rows of 4, a row of 2, a row of 3, a row of 4, 2 rows of 5. Use a dab of icing on the bottom of the cupcakes to keep them in place. It should look like this....
Next is the swirls. I put icing into a pastry bag with the tip 1D on it. This is a large tip and takes a large coupler. It is used for the cupcake swirl. I also suggest using the 16 inch bags. I started off with the 12 inch and only got about 2 cupcakes done before having to add more icing. So I ran to JoAnn's and got the bigger bags. MUCH nicer. I actually also bought the tip then. I originally had another tip, because I wasn't sure which to use. I didn't like how it looked so I bought the 1D. It's much better. Starting on the edge I just swirled it around and into the center. I did this with each 'cupcake'.
Then I decorated with sprinkles and candy pearls. I used these...
I sprinkled the Sanding Sugar Opal over the whole cake. Then I used the Shimmer White Sugar on the top 2 rows and the bottom row. It's hard to capture the sprinkles on camera.
Use your creativity to decorate it however you want to. Then I used the pearls to form a 'belt'. I did 4 rows of the pearls. I put them on the top of the row of 2 cupcakes.
Then I wanted a little accent piece. You can use anything you want. I saw one use 2 pink roses. Onto wax paper, I made a swirl like that on each cupcake. Then I put purple and the larger white sprinkles on it. I put it in the freezer to set up, then placed it on the cake. And Ta-Da!! A cupcake Bridal cake. For the extra cupcakes, I did the swirl technique and then put different color sprinkles on them. The theme for our shower was very colorful. Again, you could do whatever tied in with your theme.
